Renault 5 GT Turbo

The GT Turbo, the Supercinq's pocket rocket

Launched in 1985 on the Supercinq base, the GT Turbo combines a light body, specific bumpers and arch extensions and a 1.4-litre Cléon-Fonte engine with a Garrett T2 turbo fed by a carburettor. The phase 2, introduced in 1987, gained a water-cooled turbo and 120 bhp, while the Alain Oreille limited edition celebrated the driver's win on the 1989 Ivory Coast Rally in a Group N GT Turbo.

To a trained eye, the markings immediately give away the version and condition of a car: tailgate lettering in silver and red or silver and black, a grille logo specific to the phase 1, ELF and manufacturer labels under the bonnet. A yellowed or misaligned badge is enough to betray a rushed restoration.

Our decals for the Renault 5 GT Turbo

The selection brings together exterior markings, interior details and technical labels:

• Boot badges: "GT Turbo" and "Renault 5" in silver and red, silver and black, plain red or black, plus the rear badges.
• Grille logo for the phase 1, for a correct front end.
• Engine bay: "Renault préconise ELF", ELF Lubrifiants oil cap, coolant, battery warning and manufacturer reminders.
• Interior: gear knob insert as a sticker, or as a stencil for a painted finish like the original.
• Motorsport touches: Speedline Corse wheel stickers and the Jean Ragnotti signature.

Check the phase and prepare the fitting

Start by confirming your GT Turbo's phase: the bumper design, model year and VIN plate settle it, and the choice of badge colours depends on it. On the tailgate, remove the old lettering with a heat gun on a low setting, clear the adhesive residue and degrease. Dry-fit each badge with masking tape, using the outline of the old marking as a guide, before peeling off the backing paper.

Each decal is made to order in France within 3 to 7 days: faithful reproductions designed by Supercinq enthusiasts.
