205 Cabriolet (+CTI, Roland Garros)

The 205 Cabriolet, a convertible styled with Pininfarina

Introduced in the mid-1980s, the 205 Cabriolet owes its bodywork to Pininfarina, whose signature appears on the rear quarter panels just behind the doors. The range was built around the CJ, the more affordable version, and the CTI, which used the 1.6 engine from the 205 GTI with its eager character and sportier specification. The Roland Garros edition, recognisable by its green paint and dedicated graphics, made it one of the most sought-after 205s among collectors.

Exposed to the weather with the roof down, the badges and graphics on these convertibles take a real beating: it is not unusual to find only one side replaced, or the Pininfarina lettering lost during a respray.

Identify the right version before ordering

On a convertible, first check the actual engine fitted: the airflow meter and engine bay labels differ between the 1.6 105 hp, the 1.6 115 hp and the 1.9. Also check the colour of the Pininfarina badges on the car or in period photos of the same edition. Cut lettering is applied with its transfer tape, on a perfectly degreased surface, fixing one edge first before smoothing the rest down.

All our reproductions are made to order in France by a team of Peugeot performance enthusiasts.
