106 (+ Rallye, XS, XSi & S16)

The 106, a worthy heir to the sporty 205s

Launched in 1991, the Peugeot 106 quickly took over from the small GTIs. The XSi came first, the Rallye arrived in 1993 with a lively 1.3-litre in a lightened, stripped-out body designed for club racing, while the XS offered more accessible sportiness. The 1996 facelift opened phase 2: the S16 and its sixteen-valve 1.6 topped the range, and the Rallye switched to an eight-valve 1.6. Its cousin, the Citroën Saxo VTS, shares much of its mechanicals.

From one phase to the next the markings changed: badges, lettering colours and labels are not interchangeable. That is exactly what a 106 enthusiast notices first on a car at a meet.

Our stickers for the Peugeot 106

The items gathered here cover the exterior, the engine and a few nods to the Peugeot Talbot Sport world:

• Front wing "XS" badges, in silver grey or red depending on version and phase.
• Logos and badges: "S16", shared with the 306 S16, and the GTI / XSi / S16 rear panel badge.
• Engine bay labels: Shell / Esso oil cap, alternator and battery, cooling circuit.
• Speedline SL434 wheel stickers, shared with some 205, 309 and Citroën VTS models.
• Keyrings: "106", "S16", "XSi", two-packs, "Roland Garros", PTS stripes and logo, 1980s lion, STICK-IN creations in soft PVC.

Phase 1 or phase 2: the right reflex

Before ordering, identify your 106's phase: the front end was redesigned in the 1996 facelift, and the first registration date is a good indication. Then compare the colour and shape of the badges still in place with the pictures on our product pages, especially for the "XS" offered in two colours. For a crisp result, degrease the wings, position the lettering with masking tape and peel the transfer tape slowly, flat against the bodywork.
