Renault 11 | Turbo

The Renault 11, from compact hatchback to 11 Turbo

Launched in 1983, the Renault 11 was the hatchback version of the Renault 9, European Car of the Year 1982. It stood out with its resolutely modern dashboard and, on the Electronic version, with a voice synthesiser that spoke warnings out loud to the driver. In 1984 the 11 Turbo brought a 105 hp turbocharged 1.4-litre engine, raised to 115 hp on the phase 2, recognisable by its new front end. Entered in Group A rallying, the R11 Turbo carried Renault's sporting tradition onto the special stages.

Under the bonnet, these cars share a set of characteristic labels with other Renaults of their generation: ELF recommendation, battery warning, dealer network reminder. These are the details a trained eye looks for when opening the bonnet of a restored R11.

Our stickers for the Renault 11

Our R11 selection gathers the technical labels found on most Renaults of the period:

• « Renault préconise ELF », the large lubricant recommendation label in the engine bay.
• Oil filler cap sticker ELF Lubrifiants, to complete the top of the engine.
• « Important batterie », the battery warning label.
• « Exigez la pièce d'origine », the Renault network label.

Finding the original position

Before cleaning the engine bay, photograph it from several angles: yellowed outlines and adhesive residue often show exactly where the labels used to be. Otherwise, compare with photos of original cars of the same phase, as positions could vary with the engine. Degrease the surface, wait until the engine is cold, fit starting from one edge and smooth down with a soft cloth.

Every label is made to order in France within 3 to 7 days: faithful reproductions designed by enthusiasts of 1980s Renaults.
