Lotus

Lotus: lightness as a signature

Founded by Colin Chapman, Lotus built its reputation on a simple idea: add lightness rather than power. Launched in 1996, the Elise S1 is its purest expression, with its bonded aluminium chassis and Rover K-series engine. The S2, then the more extreme Exige, carried the bloodline forward, notably with the Toyota engine of the 111R. On these British sports cars, the graphics are part of the identity: silver or charcoal grey depending on the paint, gold on the black-and-gold editions that echo Lotus's great racing years.

Our Lotus decals

The range covers exterior markings as well as nods to the marque's history:

• Front wing repeaters: "111S" and "111R" in silver or charcoal grey, "S" logos for Elise, Exige and Europa.
• Rear clams: rear panel graphics for the Elise S1 (silver, charcoal, JPS-style Type 49 gold) and the Exige S2.
• Versions and editions: Elise S1 111S kits in several colours, Sport 135 matt black with "3", Supercharged "SC" logo, gold Type 49 set.
• Heritage: Colin Chapman signature, "Heritage" laurel wreath for the S2, "Queen's Award for Enterprise" sticker in black or gold.

Elise S1 keyrings in several colours, designed by STICK-IN, round off the range.

Colour and generation: the two things to check

On a Lotus, the right graphic colour matters as much as the shape: compare your current markings with the body colour before choosing silver, charcoal or gold. Also tell the S1 and S2 apart, as their rear ends are clearly different. On composite panels, clean with isopropyl alcohol and apply without stretching the film.
