Restoration sticker for the gear knob insert – R21 Turbo, Lotus Esprit Turbo

The red renovation decal for the gear pattern on the gear knob of the Renault 21 2.0 Turbo.

On the gear knob of the Renault 21 2.0 Turbo, the gear pattern eventually wears off under the fingers. This red decal, cut to the size of the original insert, reproduces the gear pattern and numbers to make the knob look new again. The same knob was fitted to the Lotus Esprit Turbo SE.

⚠️ Essential: varnish the decal after fitting to protect it from hand friction.

Fitting tips

Clean and degrease the surface thoroughly (isopropyl alcohol or a mild degreaser), then let it dry: it must be clean, smooth and dry, ideally between 15 and 25 °C.

Hold the decal in place with its clear transfer tape, adjust its position (a strip of masking tape makes a handy hinge), peel off the backing sheet, then squeegee from the centre outwards. Finally peel the transfer tape off slowly, folding it back flat on itself.

Gear knob: you must varnish the sticker once fitted (clear varnish, in thin coats) to protect it from wear by the hand.
