Restoration sticker for the gear knob insert – Renault Clio 16S/16V

The shift pattern and numbers for the gear knob insert of the Clio 16S / 16V.

On the 16-valve Clio, the gear knob insert shows the shift pattern in white. Over the years, wear from hands rubs the numbers away. This cut white decal reproduces the original pattern: it is applied to the insert repainted black, then protected with varnish to last.

⚠️ Essential: repaint the insert black before fitting, then varnish the decal once applied.

Fitting tips

Clean and degrease the surface thoroughly (isopropyl alcohol or a mild degreaser), then let it dry: it must be clean, smooth and dry, ideally between 15 and 25 °C.

Hold the decal in place with its clear transfer tape, adjust its position (a strip of masking tape makes a handy hinge), peel off the backing sheet, then squeegee from the centre outwards. Finally peel the transfer tape off slowly, folding it back flat on itself.

Gear knob: you must varnish the sticker once fitted (clear varnish, in thin coats) to protect it from wear by the hand.
