“F16.i.e” engine cover sticker – Renault Clio Williams, 16S/16V, R19 16S/16V

The yellow “F16.i.e” rocker cover marking, faithfully remade from a genuine Renault part.

The F7R engine of the Clio Williams, like that of the Clio 16S/16V and Renault 19 16S/16V, carries the yellow “F16.i.e” lettering on its plastic cover. Heat, cleaning and the years make this marking flake away. Our decal was taken from an original Renault rocker cover (part number 7700741557): shape, typeface and colour all match, for a concours-worthy engine bay.

Good to know

• There are at least two versions of cover 7700741557, with the “Renault” engraving in a different place: with our guide, the marking may sit slightly off compared with the original.
• For a perfect finish, remove every trace of the old yellow marking before fitting.
• As seen on Wheeler Dealers France: Aurélien Letheux fitted it to a Renault 19 16S (season 9, episode 12).

Fitting tips

Clean and degrease the surface thoroughly (isopropyl alcohol or a mild degreaser), then let it dry: it must be clean, smooth and dry, ideally between 15 and 25 °C.

Under the bonnet, work on a cold engine and degrease well: oil vapour prevents adhesion.

Hold the decal in place with its clear transfer tape, adjust its position (a strip of masking tape makes a handy hinge), peel off the backing sheet, then squeegee from the centre outwards. Finally peel the transfer tape off slowly, folding it back flat on itself.
