The Renault 18 Turbo: the family saloon that found extra breath

Launched in 1978 as the successor to the Renault 12, the Renault 18 quickly established itself as a sturdy, comfortable cruiser, both as a saloon and as an estate. In 1980 the 18 Turbo brought turbocharging to Renault's mainstream range: a 1.6-litre four-cylinder fed by a turbocharger, specific wheels, a sportier interior and side graphics that left no doubt about its intentions.

On an 18 Turbo, the stripe running around the body is part of the car's identity. Over time it cracks, fades or vanishes during a respray, and it is often the first detail a knowledgeable enthusiast notices at a classic car meeting.

Our stickers for the Renault 18 and 18 Turbo

The range brings together the graphics specific to the Turbo and the technical labels shared by Renaults of the period:

• Full body stripe kit for the phase 1 18 Turbo, reproduced from period graphics;
• Engine bay labels: "Renault préconise ELF", battery warning and Renault servicing recommendation;
• ELF oil cap sticker, the small touch that completes a restored engine;
• Jean Ragnotti signature, in black or white, for fans of Renault's golden era;
• "Turbo" keyring based on the lettering of the 18 Turbo and R5 Alpine Turbo, designed by STICK-IN.

Fitting an 18 Turbo stripe without mistakes

The stripe runs across several panels: before removing anything, mark the stripe height and its start and end points with masking tape, especially around the doors and wings. If the car has been resprayed, let the paint cure for several weeks before fitting. Work panel by panel on a degreased surface, then trim neatly at the panel gaps with a fresh blade. This avoids misalignment between doors, which shows immediately in profile.

All these faithful reproductions are made to order in France within 3 to 7 days by a team of classic Renault enthusiasts.
